Budget-friendly autumn date ideas

Fun and affordable ways to enjoy this fall together!

Fall is just around the corner and it’s the perfect season for going on dates or asking that special someone out! Lincoln is full of fun date ideas if you know where to look. In this article, I’ll share two date ideas that you absolutely have to try.

The first one is super close to Union, called Wax Buffalo Candle Lab. It’s located at 4723 Prescott Ave. Here, you and your date can make custom candles together, making something unique to keep to remember your time together. Plus, they offer a super fun variety of drinks to enjoy while you’re there. This date is not only creative but also lets you relax and chat as you work on your candles together. If you want to, you can stop by The Mill beforehand. If you haven’t been to The Mill yet, it’s a nearby coffee shop where you can grab a hot drink and a sweet treat before heading over to Wax Buffalo. The cozy, laid-back vibe of both spots makes it a perfect combination for a low-key but memorable date for the both of you.

For a morning date option, you could start the day by grabbing a drink at Crescent Moon, a favorite spot of mine that I would easily give five stars. Their beverages are delicious and somewhat affordable, plus they have plenty of treats you can munch on as you wander through the Downtown Lincoln Farmers’ Market. The farmers’ market is the perfect place for a simple yet special morning date, which is running through October 12, 2024. The market is full of fun things to see and eat. With local vendors offering homemade pastries, fresh flowers (guys take notes) and even breakfast burritos. As you walk together sipping your little drinks, you’ll be able to enjoy live music in the background, which creates a nice, relaxed vibe. It’s a great chance to get to know your date without the pressure of sitting across from them at a fancy restaurant.

If you want to make the day even more memorable, consider extending your date to the Sunken Gardens, just a short walk or drive away. This spot is famous for its beautiful, colorful flowers, which are especially lovely during late summer and early fall. A morning date at the Farmers Market and a visit to the Sunken Gardens gives you a great mix of lively, fun moments as well as quiet, beautiful scenery.

All of these date ideas are affordable and offer plenty of opportunities to get to know each other while having fun. Whether you’re getting creative by making candles or strolling through downtown together, Lincoln has something for everyone. So if you’re looking for a sweet and simple way to ask someone out or spend time with your partner, give these ideas a try this fall!
