Erin Bloom Davenport returns to Union for CNTRD
This Friday night, Union College receives one of its own alumni to speak to current students about achieving success. The alumna in question is Erin Bloom Davenport, previously a biology and communication student, currently a coach and CEO for Light of the Traveler Coaching. She has written a series of books detailing the stories and struggles of life coaches and how they persevered and overcame, titled “Short, Sweet, and Sacred.”
Davenport is a certified Life Mastery Coach and an internationally recognized motivational speaker, as well as detailed author of inspirational writings in both books and magazines. Davenport’s strength is bringing her clients to find jobs they can be fulfilled in; she uses her own experiences to inspire others to overcome adversity, sharing hope through her story.
In college, Davenport created a non-profit organization to help bring water to Kenya and went to Kenya herself in 2009 as a volunteer. Davenport still travels back on retreats to help the water project. She also leads her life coaching by bringing resources, opportunities and her own wealth of information to clients. Light of the Traveler Coaching, a business run by Davenport to provide coaching retreats to Kenya, describes Davenport’s ideal as “Deeply believ[ing] in the power within all of us to overcome what our ingrained belief systems may label as impossible.” She strives to help her clients along the way as they create and define their own life that they can enjoy.
Davenport has also successfully produced the film, “Rise of the Shaman” (2022) which received multiple awards with her as executive producer as well as acting in the film. She is currently working on another film, “Becoming Milo,” which is currently in pre-production, as a producer and writer for the film.
Davenport will be featured at CNTRD this Friday, Sept. 29 at 7:30 – 8:30 p.m. in the Woods Auditorium.
