Union College hosts campus-wide Christmas event
The semester is coming to an end soon, and finals season is in full swing. Students are stressed, and having spare time is practically nonexistent for students who are taking difficult classes. However, the time to take a break is here, because the campus-wide Christmas celebration is happening today, Dec. 6, at 5:00 p.m. in Woods Auditorium.
Students, staff and faculty have a chance to hang out and build the Christmas spirit together before the official finals week kicks off. The festivities will include a cornbread and chili feast served by the local Pathfinders, live music provided by the Music Program, activities provided by Student Association, and hot drinks and decor provided by Student Life, Residential Life and the employee social committee. The send off for the night includes smores, fires and a lightshow under the clock tower.
The employee Christmas decorating contest winners will be announced at the event as well. If you have time, roam campus to see the incredible decor before the winners are announced. DB 5th floor has a few notable entries, but the decor spreads across the entire campus.
Some students have shared concerns about being able to attend while balancing their studies. Brynna, an IRR biochem major said, “It sounds like fun, but I have a busy finals week so I might not be able to attend.”
Other students are ready and planning to attend. Christian, another IRR major, said, “All I want is warm drinks and good music. I’ll most likely go.”
