Nebraska beach volleyball making history
The University of Nebraska beach volleyball team welcomed the sunshine on Monday, Feb. 26 by hosting their first-ever outdoor home matches. They embraced this as an opportunity to make history. The Huskers dominated the courts, winning several different games against
Wayne State and Ottawa as the temperature rose into the 80s.
In the opening set, Lindsay Krause and Lexi Rodriguez demonstrated why they are the team’s
strongest duo by winning 21-10 and 21-5, proving themselves as the top pair. They won strongly,21-14 and 21-14, compared to Wayne State, as they continued their win streak as the No. 2 team. On the campus beach volleyball courts, the Huskers defeated Wayne State 4-1 then totally wiped Ottawa 5-0 in an amazing performance. Nebraska finished the season with an
outstanding 5-0 record thanks to these achievements.
The excitement certainly doesn't end there for Husker fans. The team is preparing for what
should be another epic showdown when they play Southwest Baptist in their last home game of
the season on Tuesday. The morning's No. 2 pair, Harper Murray and Laney Choboy helped secure the win with clean victories against Ottawa, winning 21-7 and 21-14. Despite facing a more challenging opponent in Wayne State's top pair, they persisted and lost in
three sets. Ally Batenhorst and Bergen Reilly, who are dominating as the No. 3 team in both
matches helped the Huskers secure victories with scores of 21-7, 21-8, and 21-14, 21-9.
The No. 4 pair, Merritt Beason and Skyler Pierce absolutely demolished their opponents withscores of 21-7, 21-12, and 21-10, 21-11. While the No. 5 team, Olivia Mauch and Andi Jackson
showed their skills by winning with scores of 15-21, 15-10, 21-11, and 21-12. Furthermore, Kyla
Kenney and Maisie Boesiger put on outstanding performances, winning both of their matches
21-11, 21-11, and 21-13, 21-7.
The Nebraska Huskers' accomplishments demonstrate their strong presence in the beach
volleyball world, as well as representing a very significant turning point for the team. It is expected that Nebraska's beach volleyball team will be a powerhouse because of their winning streak and ongoing dedication to the game.
Fans of the Nebraska Huskers are huge admirers of their beach volleyball team. They're eager
to see them play since the games are enjoyable to watch. Due to so many of the players being from their home state, the fans have a deep sense of connection with the team. Families also have an excellent experience attending these matches. The sports are made much more exciting by the loud cheers and red attire of all participants. They are ready for the next game to support the team and cheer on their favorite players.
