Casting Crowns, the Grammy Award winning contemporary Christian rock music group, is making another appearance in Lincoln and it’s not too late to get tickets. The last time the group was in Lincoln was a little over three years ago for a small performance, but now they’re back for a full concert at Lincoln Berean Church on Oct. 13 at 7pm.

Lincoln is one of the stops of their The Very Next Thing tour and they will be joined by special guest Zach Williams. Along with Casting Crowns, We Are Messengers, Rend Collective and Toby Mac will all be making an appearance somewhere in Lincoln in the near future.

“I like the many opportunities there are for Christian concerts in Lincoln,” comments junior nursing major Matt Mundall. “There are many churches including ours (College View) in the area that host affordable Christian concerts, which is not only great for us, but also the community.”

Since the band formed in 1999 by lead singer and songwriter Mark Hall, they’ve produced over thirteen albums. “Casting Crowns does a really good job at reaching a wide audience,” comments senior exercise science major and concert coordinator for Campus Ministries, James Dickerson. “Their message is able to extend to the older generation, and yet they still have a big influence on the younger generation. There is probably going to be a wide variety of people there, it’s the cross generation that they are so good at.”

With famous songs like “Lifesong”, “Who Am I” and “Praise You In This Storm”, the concert is sure to be great. “I grew up listening to Casting Crowns and I love seeing how their music styles have changed over the years,” comments freshman social work major, Sami Murrieta. “It’s exciting to see the wide variety of Christian concerts here.”

Tickets for the concert are sold on Lincoln Berean’s website or in person at the church. Don’t wait too long to get yours!
