Welcoming the Basketball Season

The basketball season has arrived! Just over a month ago, the basketball athletes of UAU stepped out onto the court for basketball tryouts. Teams were quickly made and the squeaks of shoes and woosh of clean swishes filled the Thunderdome. As practices wore on and skills were polished, both the men’s and women’s basketball teams worked on drills, pushed through strength and conditioning, and reviewed the workings of the game. All players have worked hard and are anxious with anticipation of the first games.

Braden Essex, a sophomore captain of the men’s basketball team is excited for the upcoming season. He said, “There is nothing I would rather do than share the court with my 14 brothers. Every day we push each other to be better, which is why I expect us to be a championship contender every year in NCCAA. We couldn’t do it without God and the Union family cheering us on every day!”

The games have already begun and the Union Adventist University Warrior’s basketball teams are counting on your support out on the court. Watch them live online or in person at the Thunderdome. We hope to see you there!
