Winter break is this weekend February 8-11

Winter break is coming soon, and while Union is preparing for the spring months, there are events across campus that are available to do during the extra-long weekend. Many Bible study groups will continue through the break, as well as a women’s basketball game Saturday night and a Super Bowl party on Sunday by the Student Association.

Break starts on Thursday, Feb. 8, and ends on Sunday, Feb. 11. The campus will still be open for those not traveling during the break, and campus offices will still be open, though faculty members may not be in their offices.

The first event during break is the Reach Deep meeting held by Reggie Bollinger, on Thursday. The meetings are for men to disclose their lives and personal struggles with a support group. It is a safe space to discuss general issues or problems experienced in their personal life. The meeting will be on the second floor in Culver at 8 p.m.

The Steps to Christ connect group will meet on Friday at 6:30 p.m. in the Rees Hall chapel, where each week’s attendees read the book, “Steps to Christ” and discuss their relation to the Bible within the book.

On Saturday, the College View Church will have its service as usual, and later at 6:30 p.m., the women’s basketball team will play Central Christian College.

On Sunday, the Walking with Jesus connect group meets at 11:30 a.m., where they start out with prayer and devotionals, and then either walk or play board games together, centered around Christ.

At 5 - 9 p.m. on Sunday, the Student Association will host the Super Bowl party. Food and prize drawings will be included with the game.

Classes will resume on Monday, Feb. 12 along with the men’s basketball game against Central Christian College at 5 p.m.
