Fall Fun at RocaBerry Farm

A beloved SA tradition returns for a second year
To end off October and mark the start of fall festivities, SA bought tickets for students to enjoy a wonderful time at Rocaberry Farm. There were 200 spots available, so people had to sign up in advance. This was a lovely event because it offered students the opportunity to hang out with their friends in a setting outside of Campus without having to spend extra money. This is a tradition that was started last year and has become a memorable experience for many students on campus.

Last year I went with my friends, and this year was no different. We spent our time walking around, enjoying the cool fall weather, eating ice cream cider, and taking cute pictures. Roca had a variety of entertaining games, stalls, and shows. At the entrance, you could sit and watch a live performance of a singer or band, depending on when you showed up. To the right, there were many fun vintage games like cornhole, shut the box, and cardboard sliding. Further into the park, a corn maze was planted, and many students were gathered, tossing kernels of corn at strangers and friends they knew. Further in the park, there was an awesome hayride that wrapped around a section decorated for the season with a spinning swing nearby. Along with all these different attractions, there were food stalls everywhere, so my friends and I could stop and get a quick lunch or drink before exploring again.

The whole experience was very fun and got me into the fall spirit. The air was cool and fresh, and everyone's outfits were on point. We tracked through the corn maze trying to find our way out and watch the people go by on the little train. There is also a pumpkin patch that we took pictures in, but we didn't stay there for long because it was further away from most of the attractions. By far, the petting zoo was the best part of the whole experience because we got to see the animals, pet them, and feed them.

It was also fun to talk and hang out while commenting on certain behaviors from the ponies and goats. There was one goat that kept trying to climb the fence to get more treats, and the pony would run at him to get him out of the way.  Evidently, this was a common occurrence because once the pony left, the goat came back. It's the little moments like these that make events so special. remembering the little things and the ways they made you laugh. I think that Roca has a very special place in our hearts at Union because of the memories and experiences we created with friends and chosen family.
