"Fiddler on the Roof" at Lincoln Community Playhouse

The Lincoln Community Playhouse is very excited to present the timeless musical "Fiddler on the Roof," marking a significant milestone as their 800th production! This classic story, loved by audiences around the world, offers a wholesome exploration of tradition, family and resilience, making it a perfect outing for anyone. Set in the early 1900s in the small Russian village of Anatevka, "Fiddler on the Roof" follows the life of Tevye, a Jewish milkman. Tevye strives to uphold his cultural and religious traditions amidst the changing world around him. As his three eldest daughters go and seek to marry for love, each choice tests Tevye's faith and the strength of family bonds and tradition. The story goes into themes of love, community and the struggle between tradition and progress — all while the threat of political upheaval looms over all of their lives. The musical, “Fiddler on the Roof” features classic songs such as "Tradition," "If I Were a Rich Man," and "Sunrise, Sunset."
"Fiddler on the Roof" will be performed at the Lincoln Community Playhouse (LCP), located at 2500 S. 56 St., Lincoln, NE 68506. LCP has been bringing theater to Lincoln since 1946, offering musicals, plays, and community programs for all ages. They provide opportunities like the Theatre Arts Academy for kids, The Penguin Project for youth with special needs, senior acting and singing groups! Volunteers are essential to LCP, helping with ushering, ticket sales, backstage work, and set building.
