Go Warriors!

The fall semester of 2024 is in full swing at Union Adventist University and so are Union sports! The Warriors are excited to kick off UAU’s athletics with Men’s Soccer and Women’s Volleyball. We’ll also get to see  Men’s and Women’s Basketball later on. The Thunderdome, 49ers field, and Buell Fogg are ready and waiting to host other college and university sports teams in friendly but fierce competitions of athleticism, skill, and courage. The summer days are over! The students of UAU are out and competing, showing Warrior pride (and Jesus’ love),  at every game they play.

Over the years, Union has built strong relationships with colleges and universities within the Midwest, some of them being as far as 7 or 8 hours away! However, we have never been a part of the league that these other schools are members of. We have exciting news! As of this year, Union Adventist University has been officially accepted as a member of the National Christian College Athletic Association. That’s right! We are entering the NCCAA as a Division Ⅱ member of the Central Region. This means we will play all of the same institutions that we have in the past but as a member of their league. In addition to this, the Warriors get a chance to compete in a regional tournament at the end of each sports season with a shot to win the title ‘Central Region Champion’.

We are saying goodbye to an old age and entering into a new one. Even with this change, the Warriors want to continue their legacy of good sportsmanship and God-filled actions, whether that be on the court, field, or in their day-to-day lives. Gio Maldonado, one of the senior players on the soccer team, is excited about the opportunity to be a part of the NCCAA. This 2024 season is his third year playing as a midfielder for the team. In Gio’s words, “As a senior, I feel my role on the team is to help transition Union into this new era of athletics, and though we will face many challenges this season, I am confident in our ability to face them head-on, and build a foundation for the Union athletics for years to come!”. The Warriors at UAU anticipate to have a good year, and they are looking to you for your support. So folks, grab your Warrior gear and Union spirit and come out to cheer for your favorite university!
