Finding a cozy spot to study on campus

Ranking some of the different study spots on campus

As the days grow cooler, the leaves fall, and Nebraska prepares for the snow to come, there won't be many places for Union students to study. However, there are many places on or around campus that will be warm and cozy; to name a few, there’s your room, Student Success, the Student Center, and The Mill.

No place can beat your own room; in fact, I would rank it with a ten out of ten. This is the place where you are going to feel most comfortable. You can let down your hair, kick off your shoes, and study at your desk — even get yourself nice and cozy in bed with a blanket and your notes.

Meanwhile, Student Success ranks seven out of ten, mainly because there are always people coming in and out of the place. This can prove distracting, but it is an amazing and cozy place to sit down and have a cup of hot chocolate or coffee. You can even bring a couple of snacks to help you get cracking in your studies or on other work that you have to attend to.

Up next is the Student Center, which I would rank as an eight out of ten, only because it is where most students go to hang out with friends, watch movies, and play games at the pool and foosball tables. They do have spacious study rooms and Cooper’s Corner, where you could get some snacks or drinks of your choice. There is also a seating area in front of Cooper’s Corner where you could sit and do homework, study, or just hang out by yourself or with your friends. It is a wide area for all to come and enjoy.

Lastly, I would rank the Mill with a seven, mostly because it is not the most convenient location to study with all of the customers coming and going. I mean, if you like the hustle and bustle of a busy workplace to study or work on different things, by all means, go ahead. But it is a good place to go and get a variety of drinks, muffins, and sandwiches. It is very convenient to walk to, being right across the street from campus; all you have to do is cross the street, and you're there.

With the upcoming change of weather, these places will hopefully come in handy for students who want to have a cozy and convenient place to study and get their homework done.
